Panel: Housing the best bet for new growth

In 2006 California construction companies took a huge hit. There was an estimated 71,400 people that lost their jobs. At the Economic Future meeting panelists agreed that building new houses and renovations will be the best solution for new growth.

The numbers are daunting: Construction jobs peaked at 127,500 in Riverside and San Bernardino counties in 2006, then plummeted as a result of the recession and housing downturn to 56,100 in February.

That’s a loss of 71,400 jobs in five years, the California Employment Development Department reported.

Three properties were financed on a 10 year term in order to buy Pinnacle Woods. Pinnacle Woods apartments was built in 1997 and has 208 units with other facilities. A private investor secured the loan for this apartment complex at a price of $10.43 million.

A private investor secured a $10.43 million acquisition loan for Pinnacle Woods Apartments at 5000 Clinton Parkway in Lawrence, KS. The financing was part of the combined first mortgage taken out on three multifamily properties. The other two communities are in Ohio and Tennessee.
